The Russian Winter Meeting is a big deal in Moscow. I would like to attend and cover it someday. So many athletes I want to see and coaches I would like to speak with. Big events in Moscow today!

Nice to see Aksana Gatalulina, Gatualin’s daughter go 4.70m PB too!

MOSCOW (RUS, Feb 7): Anzhelika Sidorova reclaimed the world pole vault lead with 4.87m at the Russian Winter Meeting (the mark was later improved by Sandi Morris). In second with 4.70m, Aksana Gataullina added 3cm to her PB. Mariya Lasitskene needed just 1.94m to win the high jump before failing three times at 2.00m. Aleksandra Gulyaeva won the 800m in 2:00.68. Yelena Korobkina clocked 4:08.46 World lead to win the 1500m. Mikhail Akimenko cleared 2.28m to win the high jump before attempts at 2.32m and 2.33m. Alexander Lesnoy won the shot with 20.98m ahead of Maxim Afonin (20.45m) second. Kristina Makarenko won the 60m with 7.22. Her husband, Artyom Makarenko, won the 60m hurdles in 7.61 PB. Daria Nidbaykina (14.05m) and Dmitry Chizhikov (16.56m) were the best in triple. Yekaterina Renzhina, with 52.44, came from behind to win the 400m over Polina Miller (52.58). Maxim Fedyaev won the men’s 400 m in 46.86 and Yelena Sokolova 658 in long jump.
