LIEVIN (FRA): Armand Duplantis faces fellow 6.00m-plus vaulters Renaud Lavillenie, Sam Kendricks, Piotr Lisek and Thiago Braz in the pole vault at the Meeting Hauts-de-France Pas-de-Calais in Lievin on Tuesday (WIT Gold). Newly crowned world indoor record-holder Hugues Fabrice Zango from Burkina Faso competes in the triple jump while world indoor champion Juan Miguel Echevarria from Cuba faces European indoor champion Miltiadis Tentoglou from Greece and silver medallist Thobias Montler from Sweden in the long jump. Fresh from clearing 4.85m in Rouen, Holly Bradshaw will be looking for back-to-back wins in the women’s pole vault and former world champion Christina Schwanitz goes head-to-head with world leader Auriol Dongmo in the shot put.

LIEVIN (FRA): Fast times are also anticipated in the middle-distance races at the Meeting Hauts-de-France Pas-de-Calais in Lievin. Brits Keely Hodgkinson and Jemma Reekie face Norway’s Hedda Hynne and Ethiopia’s Habitam Alemu in the 800m and Laura Muir makes her season’s debut in the 1500m against in-shape world bronze medallist Gudaf Tsegay from Ethiopia. World record-holders Sifan Hassan and Beatrice Chepkoech go head-to-head in the 3000m and Slovenia’s Marusa Mismas-Zrimsek competes in the 2000m steeplechase again, twelve months after winning last year in a world best of 5:47.79. Her main rival will be Winfred Yavi of Bahrain. Former world champion Pierre Ambroise-Bosse faces a strong European line-up including Amel Tuka, Alvaro de Arriba and Elliot Giles in the men’s 800m while an excellent field including world indoor champion and record-holder Samuel Tefera, world bronze medallist Marcin Lewandowski as well as Filip and Jakob Ingebrigtsen has been assembled for the men’s 1500m. Selemon Barega will also be targeting a world lead in the 3000m. Elsewhere, world champion and world leader Grant Holloway faces in-form Wilhem Belocian in the 60m hurdles and Christina Clemons will be looking for back-to-back wins after clocking a 7.83 world lead in the women’s 60m hurdles in Berlin. Javiane Oliver is the women 60 m favorite, strong group of overseas sprinters (Cisse, Quinn, Rodgers) against Europeans (Jacobs, Van Gool, Volko). Lievin has the best fields so far in the indoor season 2021.

LIEVIN (FRA): World 200m champion Dina Asher-Smith has pulled out of the 60m at the Meeting Lievin due to a tight quad. Another cancellation is Orlando Ortega in 60 m Hurdles and Adam Kszczot in the 800 m.

LIEVIN (FRA): World decathlon record-holder Kevin Mayer is a late addition for the 60m hurdles in Lievin. Mayer cleared 5.10m in the pole vault off an abbreviated approach in Miramas on Sunday.
