.@airlavillenie vaults 6.06m in Clermont-Ferrand, his best clearance since 2014 ‼️

— World Athletics (@WorldAthletics) February 27, 2021

This has been an amazing season with Renaud Lavillenie. Since Jan 2021, Renaud Lavillenie has been jumping big. His 6.06m on Feb 27, was the best jump by Renaud Lavillenie since 2014 and Doneytsk, where Lavillenie set the then world indoor record. Just the week prior to the 2021 European Indoors, and Mondo Duplantis having gone 6.10m, this could mean a brilliant pole vault battle in Torun, Poland.

Lavillenie 606 and tried at 620

Some of the best to have ever done it… what a backdrop!

Cracking set up for tonight’s @AllStarPerche event in Clermont-Ferrand. Big thanks to @airlavillenie for organising.

Looking forward to supporting @HollyBradshawPV in her first outing since @Meeting_Lievin 👍😊 pic.twitter.com/5VpTLSC8Sh

CLERMONT-FERRAND (FRA, Feb 27): Renaud Lavillenie cleared 6.06m on his third attempt for victory at the All-Star Perche (WIT Silver, he is the main organiser), his highest vault since breaking the world record with 6.16m in February 2014. Lavillenie also had three unsuccessful attempts at a world record of 6.20m. He was first ever who tried three times 620 in the history of the event. Menno Vloon smashed his Dutch record with a 5.96m clearance with Chris Nilsen from the United States third with 5.86m. Ethan Cormant and Valentin Lavillenie both cleared 5.80m to finish fourth and fifth on countback in a high quality competition, for both PB´s. Thibaut Collet cleared 5.60m to win the B final with Kevin Mayer clearing a season’s best of 5.30m in fourth off ten strides. Holly Bradshaw extended her unbeaten streak with victory in the women’s competition with 4.78 (tried at UK record 488) ahead of Iryna Zhuk who cleared a Belarusian record of 4.73m.
