Beth Potter 5K unlikely to be ratified

Truth is this: Beth Potter ran a fine 5k in 14:41. Did her new ASICS shoes help? Of course! But why don’t many media friends not note that a year of solid training, no racing, also adds to a complicated situation. Bottom line is that WA must come up with rules on racing shoes and spikes or world records will mean nothing.

But pummeling Beth Potter on social media was not an advised approach.

LEEDS (GBR): Beth Potter admitted she thought the clock was faulty when she crossed the finish line in the Podium 5km in Barrowfield at 14:41 on Saturday, informs AW. “I thought it was a joke. I needed someone to confirm to me what it was that I’d run. I thought the clock was out! I was shell-shocked, to be honest…I thought 15:15 would be a really good run for me because I’ve been focusing on other parts of my training this year,” said Potter who has focused on triathlon in recent years. However, Potter’s mark is unlikely to be ratified as a world record due to a lack of drug testing and other technical requirements not being met.
