ZAGREB (CRO): After finishing his season with victory in Zagreb with 22.84m, Ryan Crouser has said he believes he can further improve his world record in the shot put. “Last competition of the 2021 season so I am looking forward to taking a short break but still ready to get back to work. I still think I can throw further. I am proud and happy for the opportunity to do what I do,” he said.

ZAGREB (CRO): Francine Niyonsaba said she didn’t sleep the night before breaking the world 2000m record. “I did not sleep and was looking forward to do my best. I have put all my heart in the training so I am glad that it pays off and you can see the results. Now, I want to keep smiling for my new record because it is wonderful. I like challenges so I am going to continue training hard and to do my best,” she said. In the 71st edition it is the first world record in the history of Zagreb meeting.

ZAGREB (CRO): Valarie Allman described it as “an honour” to compete against Sandra Perkovic on home soil in Zagreb. “I feel so blessed to be able to come to this meeting. Sandra here, she is a star, and what she has done in her career is absolutely incredible. To compete in a place where she has made a discus such a celebrated sport is such an honour to come and compete with her. The sport right now is so exciting. Just that energy feels so good to compete on this place. She is a very talented lady and anytime we are competing, it is going to be a great duel,” she said.
