The Zurich Weltklasse is one of the finest athletic meets in the world. Held since 1928, the meet became an annual event in 1973. Anyone who was anyone in the sport has competed here. Stuart Weir made us aware of the Weltklasse giving out photos of their classic moments.

The Weltklasse in Zurich was first held in 1928, becoming an annual event in 1973. It was part of the Golden League and then the Diamond League series, ultimately becoming a venue of Diamond League finals. The event has seen 25 World records over the years. Among those who have set world records athere are Seb Coe, Renaldo Nehemiah, Yelena Isinayeva, Haile Gebrselassie, Evelyn Ashford and Mary Decker-Slaney. The event has recently released some photos to commemorate its history.
