This is day six of Week 2 of the Brooks Spring Middle Distance Daily Track Training. Today we feature a clip from Des Linden, a two time Olympian, 2018 Boston Marathon champion and a fine competitor at cross country, track & field and road racing. In watching Des for the past two decades, one would see a fine high school runner from Hilltop High School in Chula Vista, CA, who broke five minutes as a freshman and made the CIF state meet all four years. Des ran four years at Arizona State University, then began running for Brooks, with the Hansons Brooks Distance Project.

What to learn from Des Linden? Enjoy what you do, and take a long term approach to the sport. Running is about facing challenges and learning about oneself. Enjoy the journey.

Thanks again to Brooks Running on sponsoring this daily column, and for more on Brooks just click here, at BrooksRunning.
