Ostrava hosts the Golden Gala during the summer season and the Czech Indoor Gala during indoor season. Two exciting, well presented meets with strong performances from all over the continent.

Elliott Giles wanted to run a fast 1,500m, and he sure did, with his MR of 3:35.93 ! Check out the other leaders from Ostrava.

OSTRAVA (CZE): Poland´s Anna Kielbasinska headlined the 8th Czech Indoor Gala meet in Ostrava (WIT Silver) before allowed 500 spectators. She clocked 51.10 in the 400 m what was not only World Lead and meet record but also national record. Second Lieke Klaver 51.66 over Jessie Knight 52.03, in the other race German Corinna Schwab improved to 51.68 over Serbian Maja Ciric 52.33 NR. Another top mark by Elliot Giles who improved his indoor PB to excellent 3:35.93 meet record in the 1500 m over Ismael Debjani 3:36.38 Belgian record and Norway´s Ferdinand Ekman 3:37.39 PB. Lithuanian record for Simas Bertasius as fourth 3:38.32 and Belarus record for Illia Karnavukhau as 5th 3:38.47. With very last attempt Thobias Montler achieved 821 MR in the long jump and beat Olympic winner Miltiadis Tentoglou 815. Iryna Zhuk cleared EL and MR 471 in the pole vault over Tina Sutej 461 (she had very close attempts at 471). Czech wins for Helena Jiranova in the hurdles 8.03 PB, Jan Veleba 6.65 (equaled PB) in the 60 m over Briton Eugene Amo-Dadzie 6.66 (6.61 in heats) and Tomas Nemejc 20.87 EL and MR. Italian Edoardo Scott won the B race in the 400 m with 46.41 indoor PB and remained overall winner after A race winner Carl Bengtstrom from Sweden clocked 46.42. European champion Michal Haratyk in his season opener won shot put 20.79 over Bosnian Mesud Pezer 20.51. Surprise win for Irish record holder Molly Scott in the 60 m 7.25 ahead of European Indoor champion Ajla Del Ponte 7.26 in season opener. Briton Revee Walcott-Nolan won the 1500 m in 4:10.53 indoor PB and Belgian Aurele Vandeputte the 800 m in 1:47.41 just edging Catalin Tecuceanu 1:47.43, indoor PB´s for both.
