Olympic silver medalist, Chris Nilsen went over six meters for the first time today, in the Tourcoing, France meeting that was called the Golden pole vault special meeting. Chris cleared the 6.02m on his first attempt, and now is part of the elusive six meter club.

Chris Nilsen took the American indoors record from Sam Kendricks, the 2019 & 2917 WC and 2016 Olympic Olympic bronze medalist.

Congrats to Chris Nilsen on this exciting clearance! Chris, as you know, was the 2021 US Olympic Trials champion and 2021 Olympic silver medalist. He is starting 2022 off quite well!
