The Stanford Distance Carnival is one of the key events, like Mt. SAC (some remember the Santa Monica Distance Classic), where distance runners can really fly. Nice spring weather, right after a strong winter of good miles and maybe some fast 3ks on the indoor scene…Congrats to Lisa Koll and see you all there at Stanford in early May!

STANFORD: Excellent women 10 000 m race at Stanford Invitational. NCAA Champion Lisa Koll achieved not only PB but also years fastest and US College record 31:18.07. Second Hungarian Krisztina Papp improved to 31:46.47 and missed the national record of Aniko Kalovics by six seconds (31:40.31 in 2003). Australian David McNeil improved to 13:25.63 while winning the 5000 m. Jordan Hasay posted 4:14.67 at 1500 m. In sprints Charonda Williams clocked 11.38 (+0.7) at 100 m and Jeshua Anderson solid 49.64 at 400 m hurdles. In technical events Amber Kaufman cleared 191 in high jump and Doha 6th placer Jill Camarena-Williams achieved 18.73 in shot put.
