Watching the Lausanne DL meeting last evening, one would be struck by the sold out stadium, six world leads, two ties to the world leads, and six european leads plus three meet records! It was clear that Usain Bolt is ready to roll. Dix ran well as did Jeremy Wariner. Can not wait to see Dix and Spearmon and Powell and Gay race at Gateshead on Saturday!

LAUSANNE (SUI): Sold out stadium in Olympic City saw excellent Athletissima
meeting. 6 new world leads, two equalled (men 100 m and high jump), 6
european leads. Also 3 meet records (100 m men, steeple men, 3000 m women).
MEN
100 m: King is back. Usain Bolt equalled world lead 9.82 (+0.5) after 0.163
starting reaction. Also a meet record. Second his training partner Yohan
Blake was close with 9.96. „I m very happy because the weather helped me to run
fast and „Billie Jean” brought me in the best conditions for this race, because
I felt a bit asleep by the training. I m so glad because my
wound didn´t disturb me after having been absent for the 5 last weeks. Thank
you for all your support,” Bolt was quoted.
200 m: Dix was clear 19.86 winner and confirmed his shape after beating Gay in
Eugene. Second Martina new national record for Netherland Antilles 20.08.

400 m: Jeremy Wariner is another succesfully returned top start with world
leading 44.57. Betters and Jamaican Gonzalez went to life-time bests 44.70 and
44.72 and fourth Jonathan Borlee european lead 44.94

800 m: Rudisha is undisputed number one and returned to Europe with another
fast 1:43.25 ahead of last world champions Mulaudzi and Kirwa with season best.
Fourth Lewandowski clocked european lead 1:44.30.
1500 m: Beijing olympian Nicholas Kemboi went to world leading 3:31.29. Laalou
second 3:32.75.

110mH: Robles was again faster 13.01, is his season best. Two runners were
disqualified after false starts Svoboda and Thomas. Robles claimed after the
race he needs more competition from the others. Briton Turner 13.30 as fourth
his seasons fastest before European Championships.
400 mH: Bershawn Jackson continues with shape from US Champs with 47.62 and
second olympich winner Angelo Taylor went sub 48. Sanchez got season best 48.17
as third and Briton Greene another European lead 48.49 as fifth with world
champion Clement last.
3000 m SC: Oly winner Brimin Kipruto lowered world lead to 8:01.62 beating
Ugandan Benjamin Kiplagat to national record 8:03.81. World record holder
Shaheen did not finish.
HJ: Ivan Ukhov in first and Yaroslav Rybakov in third equalled world leading 233 in high jump and ruled
in the event.

2010.
3000 m: In fast race 5000 m
world champion Vivian Cheruiyot confirmed she is back from injury and clocked
world lead and meet record 8:34.58. Surprise second Alemitu Bekele of Turkey
with European lead 8:35.19 and only third Meseret Defar 8:36.09. Eijgu,
Chenonge, Melkamu was the next order in this packed race.
