ASICS introduces the GEL-Scout trail shoe and Trail Shield Quarter
sock for fall 2012. These two new additions to the trail collection give
the proper support and safety while off the road.
The GEL-Scout trail shoe is lightweight while offering protection,
comfort and durability. The sole configuration and aggressive lugs
provide complete ground contact and traction, and the full outsole
coverage ensures protection to the foot while maintaining great ground
feel. The upper features a supportive cage structure around a soft mesh
lining for comfort, durability and a secure fit. Weighing in at 12.1
ounces, the GEL-Scout will be available June 1, 2012 for $120.
The Trail Shield Quarter sock offers a unique nontoxic insect repellent
treatment (up to 50 washes) that repels biting insects such as
mosquitoes, midges, bed bugs, sand flies and fleas. Made from a
soft-to-the-touch Merino wool blend, it also provides temperature
regulation, durability and cushioning, and has anti-odor and
quick-drying properties. Articulation and silicone traction pads on the
sole prevent slippage and allow effective interaction with the shoe. The
Trail Shield Quarter sock will debut in stores June 1, 2012 for $16.
“ASICS offers a complete line of trail products to suit the needs of
every off-road runner,” Brice Newton, Running Footwear Manager, ASICS
America Corporation. “The new GEL-Scout and Trail Shield Quarter are
two impressive new styles that when worn together provide the utmost in
comfort, protection and durability under all the unique conditions
presented in nature – bugs, rocks, unstable terrain, mud and more.”
