Spanish Eusebio Caceres impressed with 822 (-0.1) in the long jump beating Louis Tsatoumas of Greece 802 (-1.3). Another Spanish win for Mario Pestano in discus 65.79. Jamaican Kerron Stewart won the 100 m in 11.24 (+1.3) with Gabon record holder Ruddy Zang Milama second 11.29, US Tori Bowie 11.31 and German Verena Sailer 11.33. Olympic medalist Yekaterina Poistogova showed top shape with 1:59.80 win at the 800 m and second Siham Hilali personal best 2:00.20. Eugene winner Hellen Obiri clocked 4:03.55 to top the 1500 m ahead of Kenyan Mary Kuria 4:05.40 and surprise Luiza Gega of Albania 4:05.79. Ethiopian Hiwot Ayalew was the best in steeple9:18.72 in close finish over world leader Lydia Chepkurui from Kenya9:18.77. World record holder Gulnara Galkina was 5th 9:30.72. Angela Morosanu confirmed her top shape with 54.37 win at 400 m hurdles. Stepaniuk 199 NR and Barshim 233
OPOLE (POL, Jun 9): Special high jump meet in Poland (but in the stadium, pits positioned at the 100 m straight) saw new national record for Kamila Stepaniuk with 199 first attempt clearance. She did not continue afterwards. The former mark of Danuta Bulkowska 197 was from 1984. Stepaniuk already with 195 improved her best. She did not had any failure in the competition with in total 7 valid jumps. It is also second best mark in the world 2013. Second Justyna Kasprzycka also great improvement to 195 and qualified for Moscow too. Asian record holder Mutaz Essa Barshim won with 233 and tried then at new meet record 238 (Ivan Ukhov has 237). He also cleared all heights in first except of 229 on third. Second Szymon Kiecana improved dramatically to 231 and qualified for Moscow.
Melnychenko 6416 WL
KLADNO (CZE, Jun 9): Ukrainian Hanna Melnychenko scored world leading heptathlon 6416 points at the TNT Express combined events meet (part of IAAF CE Challenge). Second Karolina Tyminska from Poland also good 6360 and third Czech Eliska Klucinova 6190 standard for Moscow. Belarus Katsiaryna Netsviatayeva was fourth with personal best 5984. In decathlon Andrey Kravchenko won clearly with 8380 points, second Dmitriy Karpov 7978 and third Czech Lukas Marek with 7753 improvement.
Walcott only third
JOENSUU (FIN, Jun 9): Olympic javelin winner Keshorn Walcott was third at Joensuu Games with 78.90. Winner Teemu Wirkkala achieved 82.38 and second Lasse Etelatalo 80.39. Leif Arrhenius from Sweden won the shot put in new personal best 20.21. Russian Andrey Patrakov cleared 222 in the high jump. Australians dominated in the 1500 m, winner Cameron Page 3:38.27 PB ahead of long distance runner Collis Birmingham 3:38.44. From women events Dutch Susen Kuijken won the 1500 m 4:08.76, Sandra Eriksson the steeple 9:48.58 and Russian Yevgeniya Kononova 190 in the high jump.
OTHER RESULTS
ALPHEN AAN DEN RIJN (NED, Jun 9): At the 42nd Gouden Spike meeting stars from Hengelo competed. Dylan Armstrong 20.49 in shot put, Erik Cadee 64.27 in discus and Ignisious Gaisah 776 (+0.6) in the long jump. Gregory Sedoc won the hurdles 13.62 (+0.2) and Dafne Schippers the 100 m in 11.64 (-1.7). Briton Hayley Jones topped the 200 m in 23.49 (+0.4).
BERNHAUSEN (GER, Jun 9): German Arthur Abele scored top 8151 in decathlon here. Missed the 8200 Moscow standard.
SOLLENTUNA (SWE, Jun 9): Super talent Irene Ekelund (16) clocked here windy 23.24 (+2.3) at the 200 m, so no Swedish junior record.
MARIHN (GER, Jun 9): World champion David Storl won in the Marihn Garden special shot put competition with 20.24 m.
LISBON (POR, Jun 8-9): Men of Benfica and women of Sporting won the club titles in Portugal. Olympic triple winner Nelson Evora leaped to 16.68 (+1.9). Rasul Dabo won the hurdles 13.78. Legendary Rui Silva returned after injury and was second in the 3000 m 8:08.00 and won the 5000 m in 14:19.38.
