US INDOOR RESULTS (Jan 31 – Feb 1)
FAYTTEVILLE: World leading 45.47 for Trinidad relay olympic medalist Deon Lendore at the 400 m from Razorback Invitational. Second Arman Hall 45.63 who clocked on Friday fast 20.71 in the 200 m. Another world lead for Florida in the 4×400 m in 3:04:46 over Arkansas 3:05.02 and Texas AM 3:05.06. Last year NCAA Champion Kevin Lazas scored 5923 in the heptathlon. Marquis Dendy returning from injury leaped to 787 in the long jump. In the women 4×400 m another World lead for Texas AM 3:31.07 beating Florida 3:31.52. Regine Williams topped the 200 m in 23.06 (also Kyra Jefferson had 23.06) and OIivia Ekpone the 60 m in 7.28. Grace Heymsfield won the mile in PB 4:34.22. St. Lucia´s Makeba Alcide scored 4246 in pentathlon.
WINSTON SALEM: World 800 m medalist Nick Symmonds opened the season with a 800 m win at the Hilton Garden Invitational in 1:48.64 ahead of Kenyan Eliud Rutto 1:48.98. In the women races Heather Kampf 2:04.28 (800 m), Sara Vaughn 4:35.07 (mile) and Deborah Maier 9:02.79 (3000 m).
CLEMSON: Olympic relay medalist Manteo Mitchell achieved at Bob Pollock Invitational 48.04 over 400 m and Drew Brunson clocked 7.79 at 60 m hurdles.
FINDLAY: Kurt Roberts won the shot put at Findlay Open with 20.43, in the weight throw Chukwuewuka Enekwechi 23.62, a world lead.
CEDAR FALLS: US Sami Spenner improved to 4406 points in pentathlon after: 8.62 – 173 – 12.60 – 632 – 2:16.32.
HOUSTON: The Howie Ryan Invitational had fast sprints as Murielle Ahoure improved her world lead at the 60 m to 7.03 ahead of Michelle Lee Ahye of Trinidad 7.15, Tahesia Harrigan-Scott 7.20 and Muna Lee 7.22. In the men 60 m Moscow 100 m finalist Mike Rodgers opened with 6.54 ahead of Zambian Gerald Phiri 6.58.
BLOOMINGTON: Greggmar Swift or Barbados won the 60 m hurdles at Indiana Relays in new life-time best 7.64. Also to note the mile by Molly Beckwith-Ludlow in 4:34.44. In men race De´Sean Turner life-time best 3:58.50. Diondre Batson clocked 6.61 in the 60 m over Dominique Hubert 6.62.
ALBUQUERQUE: At the New Mexico Invitational last year junior Raymond Bozmans 6.60 in the 60 m was a new PB. Also a new life-time best for another last year junior Dapo Akinmoladun 7.69 at 60 m hurdles. Jasmin Stowers improved to 7.99 in the women hurdles.
NASHVILLE: National team sprinter Trell Kimmons won the 55 m at the Tennessee State Invitational in good 6.18.
STATE COLLEGE: Penn State National had Brycen Spratling 46.32 in the 400 m, Briton Michael Bingham in another race 46.52. Australian top 400 m runner Steven Solomon won the 500 m in 1:01.44 and Dominic Berger 7.68 over the hurdles (faster 7.63 in heats). Jamaican Danielle Williams topped two events, hurdles in 8.14 and 200 m in 23.53. In the 500 m Kristyn Williams 1:10.82 and over 800 m French Justine Fedronic 2:03.25, indoor PB. Canadian Flings Owusu-Agyapong clocked 7.24 in the 60 m ahead of Mahagony Jones 7.26.
LUBBOCK: Jamaican sprinting talent and 2012 World junior medalist Odean Skeen achieved in heats of Masked Rider Open meet world leading 6.11 at 55 m. Nigerian Stephanie Kalu got in women 55 m another world lead 6.75.
SEATTLE: Olympic and World winner Ashton Eaton opened his season with two 60 m hurdles races, 7.68 in heats and very impressive 7.61 in the final. It was just 0.01 behind his life-time best. His wife Brianne Theisen-Eaton achieved 8.29 in women hurdles heat. She missed her PB by 0.04. In the 60 m Ryan Bailey clocked 6.62 over Qatari Samuel Francis 6.64. Mile at the oversized track had Canadian Luc Bruchet winning in 3:57.71 over US steeple record holder Evan Jager 3:58.20 and Dan Huling 3:58.39. Lawi Lalang posted fast 7:44.20 in the 3000 m. Tyron Stewart with 790 in long jump beat by one cm olympic medalist Will Claye 789. Joe Kovacs won the shot 20.05 and Dakotah Keys scored 5730 points in heptathlon. Amanda Winslow had 8:56.37 in the 3000 m ahead of Lauren Penney 8:56.44 and Canadian Jessica O´Connell 8:57.20, all three clocked first career sub 9 times. Kenyan Betsy Saina achieved world leading at any conditions 15:28.84 ahead of Alisha Williams 15:34.28. Tia Brooks registered 18.51 in the shot put.
OTHER INDOOR RESULTS
LUXEMBOURG (LUX, Feb 1): Former European Indoor champion Gregory Sedoc won the 60 m hurdles in 7.67 ahead of Koen Smet 7.72 at the traditional international indoor meet here Beranger Bosse who now runs for France (formerly Central African Republic) topped the 60 m in 6.70, German David Gollnow 400 m in 47.13. French Marie Gayot won the women race in 52.80 ahead of Dutch duo Madeia Ghafoor 53.01 with Lisanne De Witte 53.15. Dutch Jamile Samuel won the 60 m in 7.31 and German Lisa Ryzih cleared 442 in the pole vault.
MUSTASAARI (FIN, Feb 1): At the Botnia Games meet here at the oversized track good 800 m races for Ukrainian Anastasiya Tkachuk 2:02.42 indoor PB and Ethiopian 18 years old runner Mamush Lencho 1:49.23. British Jarryd Dunn clocked 46.59 in the 400 m and Odain Rose of Sweden won the 60 m in 6.68 ahead of Briton Harry Aikines-Aryetey 6.69. Henri Vayrynen leaped to 784 cm in the long jump, a new PB. Hanna-Maari Latvala won both women sprints in 7.37 and 23.42. New Finnish indoor discus record (this hall allows it) Sanna Hamarainen 58.29 m.
ZARAGOZA (ESP, Feb 1): Moroccan Zakaria Mazouzi got here at the Trofeo CAI Ciudad de Zaragoza good 3:41.29 in the 1500 m and home Antonio Abadia 7:51.79 in the 3000 m. 28-years old Spanish shot putter Carlos Tobalina improved to 19.70 personal best.
REYKJAVIK (ISL, Feb 1): Hafdis Sigurardottir leaped to 640 Iceland national indoor record during first day of Iceland Indoor Championships. In the 400 m she clocked 54.32 and second World youth 800 m champion Anita Hinriksdottir in 54.48.
DIJON (FRA, Feb 1): Xue Changrui of China won the pole vault at jumping meet with 575 and equaled his PB. Vanessa Boslak was the best woman with 440. Italian junior Erika Furlani cleared 185 to win women high jump and Temfack Djoumessi cleared 224 new Cameroon record in the men competition.
PORDENONE (ITA, Feb 1): Italian high jump super talent Alessia Trost cleared here at the high jump meet 192 and had three misses at 198. Giulio Ciotti won the men competition 224 cm.
ANCONA (ITA, Feb 1): In duel of top Italian triple jumpers Daniele Greco got 16.65 over Fabrizio Donato 16.58. Swiss Irene Pusterla won the long jump 645.
VILNIUS (LTU, Feb 1): Dovile Dzindzaletaite the World junior medalist 2012 improved Lithuanian indoor triple record to 13.83. Airine Palsyte got 190 in the high jump. Fast walks as Marius Ziukas achieved 19:08.27 in the 5000 m and Brigita Virbalyte 12:20.32 personal best in women 3000 m.
BUDAPEST (HUN, Feb 1): At Budapest Indoor Champs Anita Marton 17.34 in the shot put.
STANGE (NOR, Feb 1): During first day of Norwegian Indoor Championships European 2012 medalist Tonje Angelsen returned to win the high jump with 187 cm.
KARLSTAD (SWE, Feb 1): World youth champion Irene Ekelund sped to 7.41 season best here.
