Mike Rutt has had a very busy week. Last Friday night, February 7, Mike ran a blazing 1:45.9 for the 800 meters, waking up the middle distance community in the US this winter. The next day, Mike was part of the NY/NJ All Star team that broke the fourteen year old World and American records for the 4 x 800 meters at the 2014 New Balance Indoor Grand Prix meeting.

In my mind, one of the most important awards that USATF gives is the Athlete of the Week. The recognition of our athletes shows the sports fans of the world that track and field athletes are exceptional all year.
