(Editor’s note: Hellen Obiri ran a fantastic time over 3,000 meters in Doha yesterday. Here is how the stats look after the race. Thanks to K. Ken Nakamura). 
Stats from Doha 
1500m
4th sub-3:30 for Asbel Kiprop  
And 3rd sub-3:30 of his careerfor Silas Kiplagat
HJ 
2.37m by Barshim is the best fourth place mark in history
Previous best 4th place mark was 2.36 by Grant & Kemp
W3000m 
Best Marks for Place for sixth (8:26.21), seventh (8:28.51), and eighth 
(8:30.00) were set 
8:20.68 by Hellen Obiri is the fastest 3000m time in May 
It is also a national record for Kenya 
and all-comers record for Qatar 
Genzebe Dibaba has recorded third sub-8:30 for the season, tying third 
most sub-8:30 for the season behind Szabo’s 6 and Ouaziz’s 5.   
8:24.41 by Viola Kibiwott is the fastest 3000m by 30 years old
8:21.14 by Mercy Cherono is the  fastest 3000m by 23 years old
Seven women have broken 8:30 for 3000m already this season, tying 
the most for the season recording back in 2001
Both KEN and ETH have 9 sub-8:30 runners
In Doha, Mercy Cherono, Faith Kipyegon, Viola Kibiwot, Almaz Ayana and 
Irene Jelagat became 42nd, 43rd, 44th, 45th and 46th, respectively, 
to crack 8:30 for 3000
