The second to last DL before a six week break. Commonwealth and European athletes are firing on all cylinders, or, they better be in two weeks. The Glasgow GP should be a very good two day meet.



Blake against Thompson, Rodgers and Dasaolu

GLASGOW (GBR): First day at Sainsbury Glasgow Grand Prix (IAAF Diamond League) will have men 100 m as the higlight, also revenges in men 200 m and 5000 m and loaded field in men high hurdles, starting with heats. In both days there will be 8 Diamond League events and 6 events not counting into the series. 

Event by event

Men

100 m: Blake is here to show his real shape against Thompson, Rodgers and home group headed by Dasaolu.

200 m (non-DL): Revenge time for Weir against Edward.

5000 m: Ethiopians (Alamirew, Gebrhiwot, Gebremeskel) can think how to beat Soi after Paris. Bernard Lagat not missing.

110mH (non-DL): WL holder Parchment is the favorite, but heats and finals. 

400mH: Another clash Tinsley – Culson, Jamaican champ Cato, Dai Greene coming back from the rest.

HJ (non-DL): US Jonas and Ross and Greek Mastoras having 230 or more.

PV (non-DL): Poland duo Lisek and Wojciechowski against Brazilian Dutra.

SP: Storl against all US best.


Women

400 m: World leader McCorory against Sanya.

1500 m: Revenge for Aregawi against Hassan and Obiri.

400mH (non-DL): Child will have it tough against US Tate and Tiffany Williams.

LJ: Bartoletta is ready, her main rivals are the home ones: Johnson-Thompson and Proctor.

DT: Perkovic with win here can secure the Diamond Trophy. Samuels and Lewis-Smallwood attacking from behind.

4×100 m: Great Britain vs USA and All-Stars team.
