This was a most unusual event, yet, it was, somehow, a good thing. The Netherlands team had filed a complaint regarding the men’s 4×400 meter heats. The Jury of Appeals allowed their appeal to be approved.
So, be careful what you wish for!
At 8 pm local time last night, for the second time in the same day, the 4x400m relay had to run and achieve a 3:04.07 to remove the Czech team from the 4x400m men’s final.
Alas, they ran 3:05.96, a fine showing for their second time in less than three hours. I recorded the event live and gave you some commentary as well.
