At the Birmingham GP international presser, Greg Rutherford was one of the four athletes who were included.

Greg Rutherford has had a fantastic season: a new British record of 8.51 meters, wins at both the Commonwealth Games and European Championships.

An incredibly nice guy, I believe that some see that as weakness in Mr. Rutherford. It is quite unfair, as anyone who has spent more than five minutes watching the guy compete. He is terribly competitive. A fine athlete, Rutherford came out of an absolutely terrible 2013 and has made 2014 his.

That is the sign of a champion.

Greg and his girlfriend are expecting their first child later this year.

We wish them the very best and thank him for his time and thoughtfulness in this interview.

I also predicted that Greg would set a new British record (8.65m). So, let’s see on that one, okay?
