Kemar Bailey-Cole has had a great summer of athletics. His win at the Commonwealth Games and fine win in Zurich on 28 August have marked Kemar as a player on the world stage of sprinting. A fine relay runner, as part of the 4x100m for Jamaica in London 2012 and Moscow 2013, Kemar has had his break-out year in 2014.

BAILEY-COLE AT GREAT NORTH CITY GAMES
NEWCASTLE (GBR): The Great North City Games on September 6 brings a mix of the top British and international athletes to the NewcastleGateshead Quayside. In the 100mH, Diamond race winner Dawn Harper Nelson will face European champion Tiffany Porter, World Indoor champion Nia Ali and World champion Brianna Rollins. Britain’s top 400m runners will take on their 800m counterparts over 500m; Christine Ohuruogu, Eilidh Child, Lynsey Sharp and Jenny Meadows are all entered. The women’s pole vault will feature Diamond race winner Fabiana Murer and Olympic champion Jenn Suhr. Murer has won 6 of their encounters this year. In the 150m, Olympic 200m champion Allyson Felix takes on the next generation of British sprinters, Jodie Williams, Bianca Williams and Asha Philip. Asbel Kiprop is the top athlete in the road mile, he was 5th last year here. Defending champion Garrett Heath, James Magut and Bernard Lagat will try to beat him. In the women’s road mile, Commonwealth and European medalist Laura Weightman will try and avenge her narrow defeat to Morgan Uceny in last year’s race. In the long jump, Greg Rutherford will hope to put his Birmingham DL 4th place behind him, he will have to beat on-form Christian Taylor to win. In the 110mH, Ryan Wilson and Will Sharman are the favorites. Olympic champion Aries Merritt and Andy Turner, in his farewell race, make up the field. Kemar Bailey-Cole will be favorite in the 100m. Kim Collins, Harry Aikines Aryeetey and World Indoor champion Richard Kilty are his competition.
