You remember Ferdinand Omayala. He defeated Fred Kerley in Kip Keino Classic in May 2022, then was jerked around on his VISA and arrived in Eugene less than THREE hours before his first round, and did not make the final. At Commonwealth Games, Ferdinand won his gold over the 100 meters after his African Champs win. 

Well, in his second season, I believe, indoors, Ferdinand is flying! 

Omanyala Kenyan record 6.55
MONDEVILLE (FRA, Feb 8): African 100 m record holder Ferdinand Omanyala from Kenya won the 60 m final at the Meeting athletisme Mondeville (WIT Silver) with a national record of 6.55. Behind him Arthur Cisse 6.59 (6.57 in heats) and Briton Charles Dobson 6.61. US Alaysha Johnson won the women’s hurdles final in the 7.96 meet record beating Australian Michelle Jenneke’s 8.02. Men’s final dominator was US Michael Dickson with 7.56 and Tristan Evelyn topped women with 60 m in Barbados indoor record 7.18. Two technical events saw meet records. US Jacob Wooten with 582 in the pole vault as four other Americans got 572 (Nilsen 2nd, Fritsch, Ludwig, Kendricks tied for 3rd). In women’s triple meet record for Leyanis Perez was 14.48 ahead of Leadagmis Povea 14.39. Behind Cubans best European Tugba Danismaz from Turkey 14.12 (missing her NR by 3 cm). Yulia Levchenko won the high jump with 189 (missed 193). Ali Abdilmana topped 3000 m at 7:50.48 and Ayal Dagnachew 1500 m at 4:11.01 for Ethiopia. Spain´s Javier Miron was the best in the 800 m at 1:49.50 just edging Daniel Rowden at 1:49.52. In the 400 m wins for Manuel Guijarro from Spain at 47.84 and Ireland´s Sharlene Mawdsley at 53.37.
