Arne Gabius, the recent German debut star at the Frankfurt Marathon, ran 13:27.54 for the 5,000 meters, an NR, and World Leader. PSD Meeting was a SRO and an exciting meet! Here is what EME News wrote about the meeting!

DUSSELDORF (GER, Jan 29): Six World leads, one German national record and a live appearance of pop and soul singer Stefanie Heinzmann marked the atmospheric 10th edition of the „PSD Bank Meeting” in front of a sell-out crowd of 2000 at the Athletics Hall at Arena Sportpark in Duesseldorf. Organisers inform. In sprints Kim Collins and James Dasaolu clocked 6.52 as top two in the 60 m, both fastest 2015 closed the evening. Before that on the straight world lead for Belarus Alina Talay who as first this year dipped under 8 seconds at 60 m hurdles in 7.96. Three world leads on the oval. In the 800 m Adam Kszczot 1:46.48 ahead of his country mate Marcin Lewandowski 1:46.74, in the 3000 m Nixon Chepseba 7:44.72 ahead of Paul Kipsiele Koech 7:45.79 and Moroccan Othmane El Goumri 7:47.77. In the 5000 m the goal of the organisers was fulfilled, German Arne Gabius won in national record and world leading 13:27.54. He is also 9th best European ever indoors at the distance. The last World lead of the evening in men shot put by the reigning undercover champion US Ryan Whiting 20.83 beating Christian Cantwell 20.53. Surprise winners in women 60 m South African Carina Horn with 7.21 PB, also Briton Lawrence Clarke in men hurdles 7.63 life-time best ahead of Erik Balnuweit 7.64 and third Olympic winner Dayron Robles 7.74. In the pole vault Robert Sobera of Poland with 565 beat World indoor champion Kostas Filippidis 560. Swiss Selina Buchel in 2:01.87 was better in the 800 m than European medalist Joanna Jozwik 2:02.19 and Kristin Gierisch with indoor PB 14.30 was better in triple jump than European champion Olha Saladuha 14.14. In the 1500 m Bethwell Birgen scored the Kenyan win 3:40.58 over home star Homiyu Tesfaye 3:41.08. 

DUSSELDORF BACKGROUND

HURDLES: French IAAF Diamond League winner last year Pascal Martinot-Lagarde unfortunately must for the moment stop his indoor season. He stopped in his heat after the first hurdle because of a problem with his left thigh. Via his twitter account, Martinot-Lagarde confirmed his hamstring injury.  Agent Rene Auguin confirmed he will undergo examinations on Friday. 

SPRINT: Kim Collins at age of 38 clocked 6.52 to win and is unbeaten so far this season. It is the fastest ever 60 m by an 38 years old sprinter. He was in close finish better than Briton James Dasaolu by 0.003 (6.511 to 6.514).

DISASTERS: World number one 2015 Silas Kiplagat was only 9th (3:49.97) in the 1500 m, German 100 m record holder Julian Reus was out in 60 m heats, Mark Hollis and Pawel Wojciechowski no-heighted in the pole vault, Slovak record holder Dana Veldakova registered three fouls in women triple. 

NATIONAL RECORDS: Apart of Gabius in the 5000 m also 8.06 by Finnish Nooralotta Neziri in the 60 m hurdles (as third).
