1. NYC marathon was held for 51rst time on November 5, 2023.
2. Tamirat Tola won men’s in 2:04.58 in his third run at Big Apple (he took 4th twice).
3. Hellen Obiri took win in her third marathon in NYC in 2:27.23, winning Boston and NYC in 2023, first time since 1989 (Ingrid Kristiansen)
5. Molly Huddle and Kellyn Taylor lead much of tactical women’s race until 22 miles.
6. Leading Americans were Kellyn Taylor in 8th in 2:29.48, in 8th, and Molly Huddle, in 9th in 2:32.02.
7. Futsum Zeinasallassie was top American man in 2:12.09 for 10th.
8. Almost 52,000 finishers in NYC.

His first article, on Don Bowden, America's first sub-4 minute miler, was published in RW in 1983. Larry has published several magazines on athletics, from American Athletics to the U.S. version of Spikes magazine. He currently manages the content and marketing development of the RunningNetwork, The Shoe Addicts, and RunBlogRun.
