USATF names Shelby Houlihan and Noah Lyles AOYs

Houlihan and Lyles
INDIANAPOLIS (USA): Shelby Houlihan and Noah Lyles have been named athletes of the year by USA Track and Field. Houlihan, who was fourth and fifth respectively over 1500m and 3000m at the World Indoor Championships and set a North American 5000m record of 14:34.45 this season, will pick up the Jackie Joyner-Kersee Award at USATF’s annual meeting on 1 December. Also due to be honoured in Columbus will be Lyles, who won the Diamond League final 200m and Continental Cup 100m, leading the world rankings for the year in the longer sprint.
