Well, for anyone who thought that Jeremy Wariner was in trouble, just replay this race! Running at the DN Galen Super Grand Prix, Wariner ran his personal best at 400 meters with a fine 43.50,tying Quincy Watts for number three on all time list. Wariner is now behind Michael Johnson (43.18), Butch Reynolds (43.29) and has tied Quincy Watts for the third postion on the all time 400 meter list at 43.50!

The double of the day was Sanya Richards, who ran 11.05 in the 100 meters, to take second there, a personal best by .23! Sanya finished second in the 400 meters in 49.72.
In the upset of the year, Alyson Felix nipped Sanya Richards over 400 meters, 49.70 to 49.72. This was the third pr for Felix this season, after her fine 11.01 at Reebok GP and her 400 meters of 50.17 at London last week.
Deena Kastor, running the 10,000 meters in Osaka won the 5,000 meters here in 14.52.21, per personal best. Also running a personal best is Lauren Fleshmann, who ran 15:02 for third, who also ran a pb at 3,000 meters last week in London.
Kenenisa Bekele ran a fine 7:25.79 for 3,000 meters, as a nice prep for his defense of his 10,000 meter World Championship title. Bekele will not double in Osaka over 5,000 meters and 10,000 meters. The 5,000 meters will be a race between Craig Mottram and the rest of the distance running world.
Aries Merrit ran 13.09 at the 110m high hurdles, setting a stadium record. Croatia’s Blanka Vlasic continued her superb high jumping, clearing 2.07m for the high jump, with two attempts at 2.10, a new world record height. Paul Koech ran 7:59.42 for the steeplechase, the first sub eight minute time this season.
Several of the performances, held in the last major meeting before Osaka-we are now 17 days out-will have some effect on the Worlds. Derrick Adkins was second to Asafa Powell, in a very close 100 meters. Jenn Stuczynski was way back in the pole vault, which was won by Svetlana Feofanova.
It is a tradition, since 1912, to give all stadium record holders one carat diamond rings for their accomplishments. Wariner, Merrit, Koech, Vlasic and Bekele all took rings home this week.
But it was the one lap race by Wariner, less than three weeks before Osaka, Japan that will give a honest preview to Osaka. Wariner is ready to race over 400 meters and the world record, is indeed, in jeapordy.
