Tyson Gay has not raced since his 19.41 run over the 200 meter straight. Our sources tell us that Tyson is having some tightness issues, and do not be surprised if he does not race until the beginning of August. Hopefully, the big three will be ready for some serious racing in August. I would love to see a healthy Tyson Gay, Usain Bolt and Asafa Powell race this summer. We shall see….

Biggest revelation at the adidas Grand Prix was Jessica Ennis. Very down to earth, with a great support team, including her boyfriend and coach, Jessica spent much of her time touring the Big Apple. We will be interviewing both Jessica’s and Hyleas Fountains coaches over the next couple of weeks!

Looking forward to seeing many of you at the USATF Outdoor Champs, in Des Moines, Iowa, June 23-27, 2010.

GREAT 100 M
FOR ZNAMENSKY

ZHUKOVSKIY (RUS): Znamensky
Memorial the next IAAF World Challenge meet (June 26) announced very good men´s
100 m
line-up. At Meteor Stadium US Champion 2009 Mike Rodgers will compete against
Jamaicans Michael Frater and Steve Mullings, organisers are announcing. Also in
the field European junior record holder at 200 m Ramil Guliyev of
Azerbaijan and fastest Austrian Ryan Moseley. One of the fastest current
Russians Andrey Yepishin is also planning to compete.

GAY NOT ENTERED TO US CHAMPS

NEW YORK (USA): US 100 m record holder Tyson Gay
is still not ready to compete. He is also not entered (currently) for the US
Championships which will be held end of June in Des Moines. Being guest at
adidas New York Grand Prix meet he said for IAAF about the current false start
rule. „Yes, I did say to the media that I think the new false start
rule doesn’t make any sense. I understand that people say it is better for
television but I don’t think the people who made this decision understand
what sprinters go through when they get into those blocks. If it is not
changed, it will hurt our sport. What happened in Rome with Shelly Ann Fraser
is not good for anyone and I promise you, this won’t be the last time this
happens to a star athlete. Sprinters are human…blocks are different,
sounds are different and starters are different at some meets. It is crazy to
think that sprinters can deal with these changes and never make even
a minor mistake,” said Gay.

VLASIC NEW LEADER

BUDAPEST (HUN): British star
Jessica Ennis was the new number one female athlete according to the
current  All-Athletics.com Women’s
Overall World Ranking only for one week. She did not gain new points, but Sanya
Richards-Ross who was the leader before Ennis lost points as she is currently
not competing and is third.  In the
latest edition Blanka Vlašic took over the lead from Ennis. Asafa Powell
overtook Tyson Gay both in the Men’s Overall Ranking and in the 100m. There are
three new event leaders compared to last week: Piotr Malachowski in discus,
Lashinda Demus in 400 m
hurdles and Barbora Spotakova in javelin. In the combined events meeting
rankings Gotzis Hypomeeting leads with 10 372 points, but new second placed
event is TNT-Fortuna meeting in Kladno with 9738. Find out more at www.all-athletics.com.
