David Rudisha, who has been recovering from some issues with his left foot, will be racing June 24 in Nancy, France over the 800 meter distance. He will follow up with that race on June 30, running the Samsung DL meeting in Lausanne.  This was confirmed by his agent, James Templeton.

RUDISHA READY, FIRST MEET IN NANCY
TUBINGEN (GER):
World record holder David Rudisha will compete on June 24 in Nancy,
France at the 800 m. It will be his first race after injury difficulties
which forced him to cancel Doha, Rome and Ostrava meetings. He will
also use the race as a warm-up before the Athletissima Samsung Diamond
League meet on June 30 in Lausanne. He’s been training in Tubingen,
Germany last two weeks. Treatment on his ankle and training has gone
well.  His coach Brother Colm O´Connell arrived in Tubingen this week
and the World Athlete of the Year 2010 has done a couple of good
sessions in spikes.  He’s fit and healthy, informs his agent James
Templeton.

JAMAICANS OUT
KINGSTON
(JAM): Track Alerts writes that three of Jamaica’s top sprint stars,
Nesta Carter, Michael Frater and Sherone Simpson, have pulled out of
adidas Grand Prix set for the Icahn Stadium on Randall’s Island in NYC.
Carter and Frater were down to contest the men’s 100m where he would
have faced the two fastest men of 2011 Tyson Gay, who leads with 9.79
seconds, and Steve Mullings, who ran 9.80 to beat both men in Eugene.
Bruce James of MVP (the club of which all three are members) when
contacted, confirmed the athletes would not be in the meet. “They are
not going to New York. We considered having run there, but have decided
to that they will focus on their preparation for the 2011 Jamaica
nationals championships,” said James for Track Alerts. At time of
writing there were no names in the entry list of adidas Grand Prix for
the men´s 100 m race at the official website. Initially heats were
planned to stage, currently A and B race is in the time table.

Spanish media are informing that national record holder at 5000 m
Alemayehu Bezabeh (24, Ethiopian origin)  has been banned for two years
for his involvement in the anti-doping investigation “Operation Galgo.”
It is the decision of Spain´s Sports Disciplinary Committee. High
Council for Sports asked for four year ban while initially Spanish
Athletics Federation cleared Bezabeh. The 12:57.25 runner and European
CC Champion 2009 was detained by Spanish investigators in December 2010
while traveling with trainer Manuel Pascua, who was also implicated in
the case. Bezabeh was also given a 3000 E fine. The decision is based on
