Richard Thompson’s 9.85 seconds for the 100 meters woke a few people up. Mr. Thompson, the silver medalist from 2008, is one of the best sprinters in the world. The problem for Richard is that he gets caught in the fireworks when Usain Bolt, the world record holder at 100m, 200m and on the 4 x 100m relays, wins a major championship.
Here is the interview he did for Trinidadian CTV. We hope that you enjoy it!
Richard Thompson is the 2008 Olympic silver medalist. He is always on many track fans’ short list, but his 9.85, at his country’s national championships, put him in a new light. Thompson’s name should be mentioned, on the very short list of the people in the fight for the medals for 100 meters.
Also note, and I believe it was our friends at Runnerspace.com, who noted, “When was the last time a US track athlete was on their local news for 30 minutes?”
