Sony Walkman Introduces Meb Keflezighi Special Edition , release, note by Larry Eder

Meb Keflezighi, the 2004 Olympic silver medalist in the marathon, the 2010 ING NYCM champion, has had a Sony Walkman Special edition named just after him! SonyÂ® WalkmanÂ® W-Series adds Meb Keflezighi Special Edition to Lineup

San Diego, Ca – September 7, 2011 – Runners can rejoice as Sony today announced a new special edition Meb Keflezighi NWZ-W262 Walkman MP3 player, offering the same lightweight, water-resistant design as the W260 models with additional content from the U.S. Olympic medalist and 2009 ING New York City Marathon Champion.

The special edition model, which features a custom Energy Orange trim over black design, will come pre-loaded with 24 minutes of audio running tips from Meb. Also included is a running booklet with information on getting started, nutrition, stretching, race strategy and Meb’s favorite runners’ playlist. Additionally, Sony will also make a donation to the MEB Foundation in support of youth fitness, health and education. The MEB Foundation was founded by Meb to inspire and empower youth and their families to lead healthy, active and balanced lives.

The Sony Walkman W260 Series is designed to conveniently and comfortably accompany its user to the gym, trail and treadmill. The water-resistant frame ensures it can withstand sweat from intense workouts in any weather condition.

The W-series Walkman player comes with Content Transfer software that allows users to easily drag and drop music files from iTunesÂ® for WindowsÂ®, Windows Media Player or Windows Explorer (DRM free content only). With 2 GB of storage, the special edition model can hold approximately 470 songs.

The NWZ-W260 series Walkman player also offers a convenient quick-charge function. With only three minutes of charge time, the player can run for up to 60 minutes and full battery life is up to 8 hours.
