A tale of two track meets. Less than ten minutes after Bernard Lagat made Galen Rupp's 5,000m AR a memory, Galen Rupp took Bernard Lagat's AR in the two mile! Running well, Galen Rupp clipped just under two seconds off the American AR, with his fine 8:09.72! Galen ran the record at the USATF Classic, in Fayetteville, Arkansas on February 11, 2012.

Galen Rupp also as the American record for 10,000m, 26:48.00, which he set last summer. A fun night, with Lagat running at Millrose Games in NY and Rupp running at the USATF Classic in Fayetteville, Arkansas.

More details to come!
