2012 World Indoors: Sally Pearson Wins 60m hurdles in 7.73 WL! by Larry Eder

Sally Pearson of Australia is now the queen of both the outdoor 100m hurdles and indoor 60m hurdles. She is fiercely fast, a near perfect hurdler and truly enjoys her event, having hurdled first when she was fifteen.

Sally told the media that she hoped to run in the 7.7s in the final, after having run 7.85 in the first round. Here is how we saw the queen of the hurdlers take her first indoor gold….

Sally Pearson is that dominant that she is a force to be reckoned with any time she hurdles. Pearson makes few mistakes, and she was no different here!

Getting a great start (.136 reaction time, next best was .145-Elin Berings), Sally Pearson did what she does best: sprints between the hurdles, hurdles right over the hurdles, relaxes the braking that many do, repeat. She ran so fast today that Sally Pearson ran the world leader of 7.73-this is after three races!

” World Indoor was my main priority this winter season. Now, I will have ten days off now before starting to train again. I cannot believe it! I felt pressure but I was in fantastic shape. And I was ready. The semi-final was horrible for me. I was really disappointed. ”

Tiffany Porter of GBR ran 7.94 to take the silver, and Alina Talay of Lithuania ran 7.97 for a seasonl best.
