The women’s 5,000 meters was one of the most exciting races of the Trials. Molly Huddle, the 5,000m AR, duked it out with Julia Culley, with Culley taking first and Huddle second. In third, Kim Conley caught Julia Lucas at the tape to make a most exciting 5,000m. Three different athletes, three different brands.

Molly Huddle, a Saucony athlete, took second in the race, and goes on to London.

SAUCONY® ATHLETE AND AMERICAN 5,000-METER RECORD HOLDER MOLLY HUDDLE SECURES SPOT ON TEAM USA

“Team Saucony” Continues to Achieve Record Number of Olympic berths for Performance Running Brand at 2012 U.S. Olympic Track & Field Trials

LEXINGTON, MA (June 29, 2012) – Global performance running footwear and apparel brand Saucony, Inc. today announced that American 5,000-meter record holder and “Team Saucony” athlete Molly Huddle locked up her first Olympic appearance by finishing second in the women’s 5,000-meter final at the U.S. Track and Field Trials in Eugene, Oregon on Thursday night. With a time of 15:14.40, Huddle added to a distinguished career that saw her set the still-standing American record in the 5,000 two years ago with a time of 14:44.76 in Brussels, Belgium. “Molly has been a member of the Saucony family since graduating from Notre Dame five years ago,” said Mark Bossardet, vice president of sports marketing for Saucony. “Since then, we’ve had the opportunity to be a part of her outstanding journey to becoming an Olympian. Her perseverance, hard work and quiet confidence are an inspiration to not only all of us here at Saucony, but to runners everywhere. We’re incredibly proud of Molly and each of our ‘Team Saucony’ athletes who continue to impress the track and field community. We couldn’t be more ecstatic with our brand’s presence here in Eugene and look forward to London next month.”
