On June 23, 2012, Tyson ran the first round of the 100 meters at the US Trials, winning his heat. On June 24, 2012, Tyson Gay ran the semi-final, moved to the final, with a 10.04.
In the final, on the evening of June 24, 2012, Tyson Gay and Justin Gatlin dueled, with Gatlin taking first and Gay taking second.
