Kirani James won the 2011 World Indoor Championships, then he did not medal at the World Indoors. But, in the end, Kirani James ran the fastest time ever run in Great Britain.
Kirani James took off and did not look back. He came off the turn,with Luguelin Santos the Domincan teenager.

Lalonde Gordon of Trinidad took the bronze with a time of 44.52, a personal best. Chris Brown of the Bahamas ran 44.79 for fourth. Kevin Borlee ran 44.81 and his twin, Jonathan Borlee ran 44.83, for fifth and sixth. Demetrius Pinder of the Bahamas ran 44.98. Steven Solomon of Australia ran 45.14 for the eighth position.
No Americans made the final. The biggest surprise was LaShawn Merritt, who hurt his hamstring at the end of the season and could not make it through the heats.
A first, and the world saw it too.
For tonight, Kirani James, who broke Michael Johnson’s British All comers record, showed that, at 19, he is the best 400 meter runner in the world.
