The Sainsbury Anniversary Games, with one day to go, has been a success. The 60,000 fans were treated to some very tough races, from the expected men’s 800m duel, with eleven men under 1:46, to the women’s 3,000 meters, to the 100 meters by Usain Bolt. But the two big surprises were Zuzana Henjova, who continued her run to Moscow with a NR of 53.07 in the 400m hurdles and Bodhan Bondarenko, who won the high jump at 2.38m, then tried to, as the late Jimi Hendrix said, touch the sky, with his attempts at a world record of 2.47 meters!
