Aleksandr Menkov saved his best for his home crowd. Long jumping in Luzhniki Stadium, Aleksandr Menkov went over 8.50 meters twice in one competition. His 8.52 meter jump won the competition, and his 8.56 meter jump destroyed the competition.

Next up in the IAAF World Championships series we have our Day 7 athlete, Russian long jumper Aleksandr Menkov. In a field of top competitors, Aleksandr brought his game to Moscow. First he put himself in winning position with a jump of 8.52, and then improved upon that, jumping 8.56m.
