VOLGOGRAD (RUS): Governor of Volgograd region Sergey Bozhenov gave regional government the task to build special athletics training complex in the city based at old “Monolit” stadium. A few weeks ago two-time pole vault Olympic champion and world record holder Yelena Isinbayeva publicly asked Russian president Vladimir Putin to help in this question. Russian sport minister Vitaliy Mutko already visited Volgograd and Monolit stadium. “We’ll not leave Volgograd athletics to tend for itself and we should create the special center here. 600-700 millions of rubles (20-23 millions of USD dollars) for that building are acceptable for us” said Mutko.
