From Richard Thompson’s 9.95, to Brenda Martinez’s 1:59.24, to Renaud Lavillenie’s 5.80 mete win to Caterine Ibuarguen’s 14.63 meters! Sifan Hassan’s 4:01.79 for the victory over 1,500 meters was another highlight of the FBK Hengelo Meeting.

This meet is one of my favorites. From the shot put in the city center to the drive into the dairy country, Hengelo is a meet rich in tradition and a fun city to visit for a few days of sport and a holiday.

Happy Birthday to Danny Grimes! Humboldt State HOF, OT qualifier. Ran 18 with Danny Grimes and Tim Gruber on Thanksgiving 1983, and in the 1970s with Danny, Bob Lucas, Rob Ripplinger and Jeff ...Nicklin. Great guy, HUGE VO2 max (82 I think). Interviewed Danny's son, Bennett!
