A meet with unique qualities. The history of the stadium, dating to the 1912 Olympic Games, a storied meet, dating to 1967, and the perfect storm. Athletes from Africa, Europe after up to two of three different championships for some, Americans who had no racing for three plus weeks!

Here is how Alfons Juck saw it.

For me, the race of the night was the women’s 1,500 meters! Jenny Simpson, 2011 World Champ, 2013 silver medalist, showed her stuff by running down Sifan Hassan, and Genzebe Dibaba. Abeba Aregawi was at back of pack. Shannon Rowbury was fourth, putting two Americans in top four!
