CSM’s Response to the Status and Future of Crystal Palace Stadium
by Jeff Benjamin
In response to the questions and outcry surrounding what is happening with the Crystal Palace Stadium, A CSM Spokeswoman has issued the following statement ;
“CHIME SPORTS MARKETING Strategy were appointed by the Greater London Authority to manage the public consultation process for Crystal Palace but have been working with the GLA to ensure a number of options to retain the athletic track are on the table, and they are keen to ensure the widest and fullest consultation on the possible future of Crystal Palace is undertaken.The public consultation process is ongoing at the moment.
Editor’s note: Crystal Palace is one of the most historic icons of sport in Great Britain. The Crystal Palace National Stadium is being rebuilt. The agency now managing the stadium, the London Development Agency, has solicited ideas on how to rebuild the stadium, which hosted the London Grand Prix meeting for many years and several meetings before the DL arrived on the scene.
The London Development Agency, now the GLA Land and Property, and is managed by Greenwich Leisure Limited. The outcry over the redevelopment is because GLA was, reportedly, not including an athletics facility in the iconic stadium.
Jeff Benjamin, a long time contributor to RunBlogRun and American Track & Field, received the above note from Sebastian Coe’s company, regarding the future of Crystal Palace.
Stay tuned.
