The Running Network Fall Shoe Review has been published since 1998 by its member publications. In this day and age, we deliver the print & digital version in September & October, and then provide daily social media updates in October & November and on our websites in October & November.

The reasoning is this: to provide you, the readers of the twenty-five print and digital publications and thirty website members of the Running Network (all represented by Fortius Media Group, LLC), every chance to see the best and most up to date running product available in North America, North Africa & Northern Europe.

As always, the Running Network reminds our readers that the way real runners purchase running footwear is to try on the shoes and receive their final advice at their local running store. Read nationally (hopefully, our reviews), and always, always, purchase your running shoes at the local running store.

If you need a daily dose of running product reviews, please go to   Running Product Reviews, the blog published by our RN Footwear Editor, Cregg Weinmann. You can find several hundred reviews there(shortly, we will have an archive of all reviews from 1998 to the present!).

The Running Network LLC & Fortius Media Group LLC robustly supports the local running store, the apex of the local running community, around the world.

If you would like some assistance finding a local running store, email us at info@runningnetwork.com.

The Running Network LLC, Reveals Top Honors in 2014 Fall Shoe Review

SAN JOSE, CA.  – After hundreds of miles run by testers, the Fortius Media Group, LLC reveals the top running shoes in its 2014 Running Network Fall Shoe Review.

“The Running Network shoe reviews have, since 1998, provided the consumer with a great series of options for finding the shoe that best fits their needs. From the tiniest of brands to the global leaders, Cregg Weinmann works hard to find you a shoe that makes sense for your feet,” noted Larry Eder, publishing director of Fortius Media Group, LLC, and president of the Running Network, LLC.

This fall,  Fortius Media Group, LLC,  put the best running shoes available to the test. During the testing process, shoes were carefully matched to the foot shape, motion, and footstrike of hundreds of wear testers. Each tester runs 100 miles in the shoes and evaluates them throughout the process on seven key performance characteristics. Evaluation data is entered into a software system developed by Cregg Weinmann, Fortius Media Group’s footwear reviewer, to decide a winner in each category.

Earning top honors for Fall 2014 are the Hoka One One Huaka for Best New Shoe, Skechers GOrun Ultra Extreme for Best Value, Nike LunarGlide 6 for Best Motion Stabilizing Shoe, adidas adiZero Boston Boost 5 for Best Shoe Renovation, Brooks Glycerin 12 for Best Neutral Shoe, and Newton Kismet for Best Performance Shoe.

“For the Fall Review, testers piled on hundreds of marathon training miles to put the shoes through their paces. This rigorous testing provides the critical feedback that validates the strengths of shoes from the various brands. The small differences between shoes are carefully compared within a matrix of features, price, and performance to determine the category winners,” said Weinmann. “Runners need to recognize that the general categorization of the shoes is only a starting point for them, and their needs should be their top consideration. The parity between brands has never been as close as it is now, meaning it’s more important than ever to find the shoes that fit and function best for you.”

Established in 2010, Fortius Media Group, LLC is a media company focused on developing creative approaches to building interest in the sport of global athletics. The Running Network LLC was established in 1986, and has published their Fall & Spring Shoe Reviews since 1998, edited and tested by Cregg Weinmann. The Fall Shoe Review was distributed on a multi platform basis, September 1-November 1, 2014.
