VOLGOGRAD (RUS): Pole vault queen, two-time Olympic champion and world record holder Yelena Isinbayeva has married with 24-year-old javelin thrower Nikita Petinov who is the father of their daughter. Wedding ceremony took place in Volgograd on Friday. Informs coach of Petinov, Vladimir Ovchinnikov to ITAR-TASS news agency.
(Editor’s note: Yelena Isinbayeva has had a busy two years. Watch for her return in 2015. Isinbayeva is, if anything, hugely competitive and hugely talented. And, she does not like seeing anyone ranked above her in the pole vault. )
