BOSTON (USA): The Boston Marathon marked the beginning of Series X of World Marathon Majors and that means athletes have now entered the Abbott World Marathon Majors Series X leaderboard. Both Lemi Berhanu and Atsede Baysa are the leaders with 25 points each. The 10th series will continue with London, Olympic Games Marathon, Berlin, Chicago, New York, Tokyo and end with Boston 2017.

Larry Eder responds: The 2016 BAA Boston marathon was one of the finest events that this viewer has ever witnessed. The combination of long lasting sponsorships and community support, plus nearly 29,000 runners who focus all year long on making it to the streets of Boston. Both races came down to the final 2.2 kilometers before they were decided, making something unusual, a road race that even a normal sports fan can appreciate.
