Simon Bartold is the Director of Strategic Planning at Salomon. Simon Bartold has spent nearly thirty-four years shaking up the perceptions of how running affects runners. We like to call Simon Bartold what he is, a “provacateur” Simon likes that description as well.

In our meetings with Simon Bartold and the Salomon team at the TRE 16, it became quite clear that the good professor is looking at running footwear in a different fashion than many of his contemporaries. Bartold and the Salomon team is working on three shoes, to allow athletes to evolve as their levels of fitness and levels of need evolves. By 2018, they will have three shoes in the Salomon running plan. “We want to provide a simple program that allows runners to evolve.”

This is the first of several videos on Simon Bartold and the Salomon running shoe program. Special thanks to the good professor for his sense of humor and his knowledge. Special thanks to The Shoe Addicts for capturing this series of discussions on Salomon running.
