The big result from Karlsruhe was Laura Muir’s European record for 3000 meters. Her 8:26.41 was three seconds faster than Rio silver medalist at 5000 meters, Hellen Obiri, who battled her for much of the race.

Laura Muir how has Scottish records at 3000 meter and 5000 meters indoors, which are both GBR records as well. The 3000 meters broke the ten year old record of Yelena Shobukhova.
