KINGSTON (JAM): Asafa Powell has said one of his aims this year is to record his 100th sub-10 100m performance of his career, informs the Jamaica Observer. “It’s a world championship season and I am preparing for it. I have a few Diamond Leagues to attend, this week I will be running in Doha, and I am trying to get my 100th sub-10 as well — that’s one of the main focus this year,” he said. Powell has recorded 97 sub-10 second 100m times (per Tilastopaja) and is hoping to set his 100th on home soil in Kingston on 20 May. “Definitely here in Jamaica is where I want to get it done. I am saving it for Jamaica.”
