Karston Warholm, Yasmani Copello and Kerron Clement talk 400m hurdles at 2017 London World Championships Press Conference

The 400 meter hurdles is a sadist event. Combining the lactate load created by running a proper 400 meters, with ten hurdles, the 400 meter hurdles requires spirit and, when the athlete is most fatigued, self control. Karston Warholm showed that self control when he took the lead over the last hurdle as Kerron Clement stuttered. Yasmani Copello also continued to move past Clement, to take the silver.

What was interesting about this presser? Warholm was unusually animated, enjoying himself and was quite honest about his feelings after his win. Kerron Clement was the most interesting. He was professional, but he was also upset on his loss. It was very clear that this race would give him motivation for 2018 and 2019.
