Lijao Gong put the shot put away in round 5 with 19.94 meters, and added a second strong shot in 19.89 meters. Anita Marton of Hungary, the Euro Indoor Champ, fought each round and hit 19.49m on her last throw, which gave her the silver. Olympic champion Michelle Carter reached 19.14m, but no farther, and could not respond to Anita Marton's spirited final throw.

This was a good presser, as the throwers speak about their competition and their medals. In the pressers, some time after the competition, and some time after the mixed zones, there were these magical moments when the athletes wanted to talk about the competition, and their hard work. If you gave them the time to speak, there were some amazing moments. We tried to capture them in these press conference videos. Thanks to Mike Deering and Adam Johnson Eder on these (along with Algernon Felice, the Shoe Addicts).
