The decathlon is ten challenging events. The late Bob Mathais, the 1948 and 1952 Olympic gold medalist once told me that the decathlon gave you ten ways to make mistakes, the key was, to keep those mistakes to a minimum.
In early April 2013, the Shoe Addicts, thanks to a media tour organized by the IAAF and USA Track & Field, spent two day observing Ashton Eaton, his fiance, Brianne Theisen, and his coach, Harry Marra, in their natural environs of Eugene, Oregon.
What follows is a video, produced for the IAAF, on the Day in the Life series, this time, on the world record holder in the decathlon, the amazing Ashton Eaton.
