Barshim thinks about records
BANSKA BYSTRICA (SVK): World best high jumpers arrived into Central Slovakia and will compete on Tuesday at the 24th Banskobystricka latka meet with music. Both are London World champions, both World leaders 2018 and both unbeaten since 2016. Mutaz Essa Barshim and Mariya Lasitskene are having top ambitions for Tuesday. “I am happy to be here again, I won here twice and definitely I am going for a win this time, too. I feel good and motivated. This meeting is very special for us high jumpers, it`s a classic one. After Banska Bystrica I am going to compete only once before the World Indoor Championships 2018. My goals are definitely gold medals at championships but mostly breaking records – meeting records, national record even the world record, that is what I am looking for. I want something for myself, not just winning but having records with my name on it. I will fight for it. I am definitely very happy and enjoying my success as the Athlete of the Year 2017,” said Barshim.

Lasitskene added: “My goal for this season is definitely improve my jumps and my personal best and be successful at the WICH in Birmingham. Tomorrow I would like to do my best. I do not have any concrete plan what I want to jump, I want to focus on 100% and jump high. I do not think about any record but I want to improve my personal best, all I want is to jump for my fans and enjoy it.” Live stream from 4.30 pmlocal time with commentary of Phil Minshull here: http://tveso.sk/bbl2018/.

Happy to be back Banská Bystrica high jump meet tomorrow @lasitskene.maria 🙏🏽 #justdoit #nike #aspireacademy #redbull #redbullqatar #givesyouwings #richardmille #whatgravity 👐🏾🇶🇦✔️💯
